"Follow Me!" is one way parishioners at St. Maria Goretti grow as a community of disciples of Jesus.  At Easter, we renew our Baptismal promises.  One way to prepare for this renewal at St. Maria Goretti is to participate in the Follow Me! Program. 

Each year adults gather weekly in parishioners homes during Lent to consider the Scripture readings for the coming week.  A trained facilitator guides the group (8 - 10 People).  This year in 2007 we will use resources that encourage us to become disciples in mission to the world.  A small group will be formed for teens as well, and special resource materials provided.

Groups meet for six consecutive weeks beginning the week of February 19.  The Scripture readings for the upcoming Sunday are the basis for the meetings, however the group dynamics allow for discussion on relevant topics and issues.  Each group has a facilitator who has been prepared in a meeting directed by Father Ray and Sister Sandra.

This will be the tenth year in which St. Maria Goretti has sponsored Follow Me!  Participation is open for anyone regardless of prior participation or affiliation.  The feedback from past years' states that getting together with others in a relaxed atmosphere allows for better appreciation and understanding of the Scriptures.

THIS YEAR WE ENCOURAGE FAMILIES TO SIGN-UP, TOO…..and become a group right in your own homes!  Special resource booklets will be provided to help you hold a family gathering each week.
